Prenatal and Postpartum Education and Care

In partnership with Open Arms Perinatal Services, the Pacific Islander Health Board is a member of the Prenatal Collaborative Care Program which wraps together midwifery services, childbirth educators, doulas, lactation experts, and other perinatal professionals. Contact us for:

  • Connection to organizations that can provide birth services

  • Prenatal and postpartum education

  • Lactation support

  • Birth Workers (birth Doulas) trained from the Marshallese, Chuukese, Fijian, and Samoan communities

COFA Islander Health Care

PIHBWA is working with the Washington Healthcare Authority to help Compact of Free Association (COFA) citizens learn about COFA + Apple Health Care and register for these programs. Educational events will begin January 2022 We will be working statewide, to reach all COFA Islanders.

Hire a Pacific Islander Doula

Our dedicated team of doulas offer supportive and compassionate care to expecting or postpartum parents, utilizing their unique skills and passion to move the work of our caring for our babies forward.

Translation and Interpreters

We have connections to many Island Communities as well as staff that are trusted leaders and fluent in their native language.

Covid Education Community Outreach

Our navigator team has been able to provide translation, distribute knowledge and resources to the community, and have been working diligently to vaccinate community members in every county that we have community in.
